authentic reflections of a life desired to live well

Equipping for Excellence

Next week I’ll be traveling with the Board of Bishops to seven different cities in three months for vision casting and resourcing for the Free Methodist Church.  The event is called, “Equipping for Excellence”.  Bishop David Kendall said,

“The purpose of our gathering, as suggested in the name, is to share how the Lord of the Church is at work in the Free Methodist branch of the family to call forth and equip leaders for a 21st century mission with excellence,” Bishop David Kendall said. “We will celebrate what God is doing around the country in relation to the nine strategies we have identified for advancing our mission. We will celebrate not to congratulate ourselves, but to encourage and demonstrate how our churches are, and will be, pursuing the mission.”

I’ll be giving two presentations during the event which are centered around communication strategy.  The two titles are:

  • Developing a Communication Strategy:  This talk will center around the basics of strategic communication at a local level with a meager budget.
  • FM Connect Like Never Before:  This presentation will provide an overview regarding the tools we are making for the leadership of the denomination.  It’s a Microsoft Sharepoint and Office 365 solution.

To learn more about the conference, you can check out www.fmcusa.org/e2 or my events page.  I’ll post the videos of my presentations at a later date after the final conference in April.  If you’re a Free Methodist leader, I hope you’ll be able to register for one of the sites.  If not, I hope you’ll stay tuned for a follow up post of the event with videos, outlines, and downloads for your church or organization.
